What is Tubaloo?
Tubaloo is a VoIP (Voice over IP) service.
What type of services does Tubaloo offer?
Tubaloo offers free calling between Tubaloo users and very low cost calling to the global public telephone network.
How can I use the service?
If you have an Android-powered mobile phone, you can download our application from Android Market or directly from our website at: m.tubaloo.com
If you do not use an Android-powered device and want to use Tubaloo from any phone, whether landline or mobile, you can use Tubaloo by creating an account on the website at www.tubaloo.com and configuring the Glocall service by simply associating the phone numbers from which you would like to use our service to your Tubaloo account.
How can I use the service for FREE without paying Tubaloo anything?
We understand. There’s nothing better than a great service at zero cost. We strive to achieve just that. If you use and Android-powered device and are using our application for Android, then you can already call other Tubaloo users for FREE on their Tubaloo Number (01.688.XXX.YYYY). This is ideal for small businesses and organizations currently using Google Apps that are already leveraging this amazing platform by employing Android-powered devices within their organizations.
At the same time we are a company and must run a business and, the fact of the matter is, to call a valid phone number anywhere on the global public network costs money. We try to make it as competitively priced as possible and pass as on much savings as is operationally viable to you, the end user. For premium services, primarily for calling OFF-Net, we give each new user USD $1 to give our service a try with no obligation. If we perform to your expectation we would be delighted to have your future business and call you our loyal customer.
How much does the service cost?
The cost of a call depends on what type of call it is.
We classify calls into three types: Cloud Calls, On-Net Calls & Off-Net Calls.
From Tubaloo’s Cloud…
Cloud Calls: Cloud Calling is always free from one Tubaloo user to any other Tubaloo user. If you are using the Tubaloo Android application with an Internet connection, then the call is absolutely free. You may also connect to Tubaloo from any phone, landline or mobile, by using Glocall (Call-through) and our network of CloudPort access numbers or by using Connect2 (Call-back).
On-Net Calls: On-Net calls refers to the list of destinations that Tubaloo classifies as “On-Net” which includes almost every major city on Earth. All On-Net destinations are flat-rate and charged on a pre-paid basis at USD$0.0250 per minute. The per minute rate is even less if you have an On-Net Subscription in which case they can cost as low as USD $0.0099 per minute.
It is our goal to include as many of the world’s dialing prefixes in the On-Net group as possible. The logical tendency is that the cost of calling any destination should trend toward zero, and therefore, the list of destinations included in our On-Net group should continue to grow.
Off-Net Calls: Off-Net calls are to the premium rate destinations which are primarily mobile networks, exotic places and underdeveloped countries in highly regulated markets. and prices vary per destination. Check the call rate calculator on the My Tubaloo Homepage for rates to specific destinations.
From outside the Tubaloo Cloud…
If you using the Glocall (Call-through) service and are first calling a CloudPort access number, then you will incur normal charges from you mobile operator or telephone company to connect the call to Tubaloo’s CloudPort access number. Once connected to Tubaloo’s Cloud, you will hear the Tubaloo chime and be connected to your destination momentarily or be instructed to dial accordingly. More information is available in the Tubaloo Coverage Map widget on the My Tubaloo homepage after signing in.
If you are using Connect2 (Call-back) service from the Android application, or from any phone using the web interface, then you will incur additional charges from Tubaloo since Tubaloo is actually making two calls, first a call to you, then another call to the destination.
Does the Android application from Tubaloo interfere with the normal operation of the default Dialer app native on all Android mobile phones?
No, Tubaloo’s Android application operates separately and independently from the native default dialer. If you dial a call from the default Dialer app, then it will never be interrupted by Tubaloo. Tubaloo’s app, however, can invoke the default Dialer app if Tubaloo’s MINU$ call processing engine determines that the call should be routed through the default Dialer using the mobile operator to complete the call. This may also be true, even though the call is being made to one of Tubaloo’s local CloudPort numbers before connecting the call to another Tubaloo user at their Tubaloo number or before connecting the call to an international destination.
